i-care® plus is an app that allows family and friends to become more involved in the care of their loved ones. The app enables relatives to manage alarms, among other things. Involving family and friends creates peace of mind and security not only for them but also for the user.
Stay Connected & Involved in Your Loved One’s Care
With i-care® plus, family and friends can manage alarms and talk directly to the user via the social alarm’s speakerphone. If using a mobile personal alarm they can also see where the care recipient is on a map. Recent events and alarm history are displayed in the app and family and friends can send messages and pictures to each other to make sure everything is okay. i-care® plus involves family and friends in the care of their loved ones, bringing peace of mind and security to all.
How it works
When an alarm is triggered an audio notification is sent via i-care® plus to a family member or friend, who is given the option to respond to the alarm by accepting or rejecting it. Unanswered or rejected alarms are passed on to the next person in the alarm chain. This can either be another family member, a friend or the emergency services/monitoring centre.
If the alarm is accepted, the family member or friend can call up the personal alarm via the app. This way, they can talk directly to the user to make sure everything is okay. There is also the possibility for them to send messages and pictures directly in the app to other people in the alert chain about the actions taken.
In addition to alarm management, family and friends can see the status of the personal alarm, such as battery level and signal strength, and GPS location including last known location. They also see the care recipient’s step count, event history, safety zone settings, other registered caregivers and their order in the alarm chain.

The app is free and available to download via AppStore and Google Play (search for i-care® plus or Careium).
Family & friends can only use the app once the service provider has created an account and sent them an invitation to become a caregiver.
